How To Find Time To Read and Read Faster

I know lots of women love to read to learn or for pleasure, but once you become a mom it can be hard to find the time to read. So I thought I would share how I have been able to read about 2 to 3 books a week, sometimes more, pretty much since I was about 17.

I don’t watch a lot of TV. This might kind of be a no-brainer, but I spend most of my evenings after Penelope is in bed reading or writing. I do watch TV, but I am just not a habitual TV watcher and it is not my go-to evening routine. When I do watch TV, I get obsessive about it and watch one show, through all 6 seasons and do nothing else but watch TV. And when I have had my fill, I don’t watch TV for several months.

I read really fast. I have always been a fast reader. Reading has always been my thing, just like math has always not been my thing. But for a long time, I thought that only some people could be fast readers. That either people were good readers or they weren’t. But actually teaching yourself to speed read, or at the very minimum, improving your adult reading skills is easy. I love Jim Quick’s website and videos, he does a great job teaching learning tricks and how to speed read.

I set aside specific times for reading. I read first thing in the morning, before I get to email, social media and writing. If I just start cranking away at the computer, I can very easily push off my reading time. But I have a set time and I make reading a priority and it gets done. Now, I realize I am am entrepreneur, who has one school aged child, and I may have a bit more freedom than the average person, but still the point is the same…make a set time and make it a priority.

I have several books going at once. So whatever kind of book I am in the mood to read, I have a choice. Having some sort of reader device or iPad comes in very handy to help me with this. I used to just have piles of books all over my house. Between iBooks (which is great to store self published ebooks like the ones in this bundle sale-you just open the pdf and save it to iBooks) and my Kindle app, I just hop around to find what I want.

It’s easy to get overwhelmed when you want to read and gather information and knowledge, so even with all my tips, at the end of the day, know that some books just wait for you. If I just can’t seem to start a book, even though I bought it years ago, I know that when the time is right, I will read it. There is no need to stress about not having time to read a book, it’s always there for you. Everything is in divine order and sometimes the stars need to align perfectly. When you finally read it, it will be the perfect time for you to assimilate the information and really absorb the knowledge.

That’s why these bundle deals are so awesome. You can build a massive library in one fell swoop and then systemically go through them at your leisure.

If you were to buy this bundle deal separately all the books together would be $850! But you can get it now for $39. That’s 95% off!

It’s a crazy good deal and I want you to take advantage of it! Click here to see all the titles. And so it is very clear, I get a commission on every sale. But if you have followed my blog since the beginning, I am very, very picky about the products and brands I promote. I take your trust very seriously and I am so appreciative of your financial support.
