I love all things pumpkin: pumpkin cookies, pumpkin bread, and pumpkin pie. Do you see the problem? All my pumpkin involves a baked good full of sugar.
My friend posted a picture of a pumpkin smoothie and I knew I needed to try my hand at one.
I pinned a bunch of pumpkin smoothie recipes but none of them seemed quite right for me. Here is why… I hate bananas.
There I said it.
I hate the texture of them, the mushy gross me out texture. But they are so good for you so I try to hide them in smoothies. Some of the recipes I found had lots of bananas – not gonna work for me. I kind of just combined a few recipes and winged it.
Pumpkin Smoothie
Ingredients
- Scoop of pumpkin puree, I used probably about a cup.
- One frozen applesauce
- 1 banana
- 1 cup of greek yogurt
- Enough almond milk (or milk of choice) to get things moving. I used vanilla almond milk so if you don’t you may need to add some vanilla or maybe a little sweetener (whatever you like most)
- Ice if you want it more icy (the frozen applesauce works for this)
- 2 tsp pumpkin pie spice
It is yummy, nutritious deliciousness! And I even had enough for another one the next day – score! Pumpkin pie-esque in a glass? Sign me up!

October 30, 2013 at 11:57 AMCan you do coconut yogurt or keifer? That is always a good replacement.
