I have spent the last year and half creating this cookbook. All recipes have been created, tested and re-tested by me, M+BL staff, and an ARMY of moms!  These recipes are the cream of the crop, only the best of the best. This book blows my first book out of the water.

You’re not only getting more than 75 recipes, I also include information on other cooking techniques for these recipes if you have time and want to branch out from the slow cooker. Each recipe includes information on the original slow cooker freezer method, as well as instructions on browning first then slow cooker, or cooking it on the stove top or in the oven with a Dutch oven.

ALL the recipes are 100% Grain-free, Gluten-free and Dairy-Free.  They do not contain corn or legumes (both are not technically grains but extremly hard to digest and common allergens). My recipes are all Paleo, Whole 30, Weston A. Price, GAPS, and Real Food compatible meals. These recipes do use natural sweeteners in some of the recipes, but if you are eating completely sugar-free, omit the sugar and the recipe will still taste great.

This way of cooking has changed my life and enabled me to take care of myself and my family. I am so excited to share with you what was worked so well for me!

I first started using my slow cooker about eight years ago. At the time, it was emotionally all I could handle. I didn’t know how to cook and I had no interest – being in the kitchen brought up painful memories of my childhood. It reminded me how much I longed to have a loving and caring mother who cooked meals for me. So, instead of really feeling and owning those emotions, I just stayed out of the kitchen and ate what was familiar and comforting—mostly junk food like potato chips, cereal, and sandwiches.

One day, I got the urge to buy a slow cooker. I figured I could stand being in the kitchen long enough to chop up some vegetables and then dump it in the slow cooker and run like hell. And lo and behold, it worked! With minimal effort, I could actually make a home-cooked meal!

But after awhile, even chopping and getting myself organized in the morning before running out the door to work became difficult. And even more difficult when my daughter Penelope arrived. When my daughter was about 4 months old, I got into bulk and freezer cooking and would do long days with a friend to make a month’s worth of food. After a couple of times of doing that, I figured there had to be a more efficient and healthier way to prepare large amounts of food.

Then I had my ah-ha moment. I decided to try chopping and assembling ingredients for several slow cooker recipes at once. Instead of cooking them and then freezing in portions, I decided to try freezing immediately after assembly and cook it later.

And again, lo and behold, it worked! I could pull out a meal from my freezer, totally frozen, dump it in my slow cooker, and have a tasty meal ready for my family by dinnertime. I felt like I had invented electricity! Both my husband and daughter ate it and loved it! I was so excited! There we were eating a perfectly healthy, grain-free, dairy-free, made from scratch meal that only took me a couple of minutes to prepare.

I shared about it on my blog,, and later it went viral on Pinterest. It was bananas! I couldn’t believe that other people were interested my idea to streamline freezer prep and slow cooking.

It’s been over three years since I started cooking this way and almost two years since my first cookbook came out. I have been floored by the massive amounts of rave reviews I have received about how this way of cooking has changed lives of moms. These are some of my favorites comments:

    Hi Stephanie,

    I downloaded your book today and am excited about it, buuuuut it didn’t work right. I was able to download the pdf but not all of the text shows up. This appears to only be with the ingredients – I only printed one recipe so far to make sure my eyes weren’t just tired. For example, cumin beans – this is how the ingredients list reads….

    3 ups onions, hopp
    3 to 4 jalapeno peppers, chopped
    6 to 8 g ri lov s, jopp
    4 y l v s
    t l spoon of umin
    2 t spoons of s alt
    t spoons of p pp r

    And then the other ingredients on the right (Add day of).

      Yes, right now the only way is paypal. I think you can do an e-check through them if that helps. I do plan on putting it on amazon later this year and then you could use your debit card then.

    Hello – I would love to download your book, but would you be able to help with converting some recipes to UK ingredients? Some things aren’t available here (like buffalo sauce) and some sizes are different (I have no idea what the size of an American stock cube is for example).

      Oh gosh, I never thought about that! You don’t have BBQ or hot sauce in the UK? I had no idea! I actually have a homemade verision recipe on my blog as well. Let me think about how I could the conversions, I think it is too late for this book. But I will def do it for my brand new cookbook coming out next year.

    I tried to download your ebook to my kindle fire today. After I paid for it and got to the download page &it said it was starting, nothing actually happened and I didn’t get the download.

      Hey Deb, it is a pdf so it won’t download to a kindle. If you have a smart phone or a regular tablet, it will though and of course you can download it to your computer.

        That is disappointing. I’m sure I would have waited had I realized. It seems like most of the eBooks I’ve bought, when updated that author provides the update for free, or there is a coupon code for previous owners. Sort of a goodwill gesture to encourage positive word of mouth. It is just too expensive to buy the same book twice.

    Do your chicken recipes use chicken breasts or whole chickens? We raise and butcher our own chickens, so I always have whole chickens.

      You will like my recipes. I use all different parts for that very reason, except I buy our chickens from a local farmer and do not butcher them (mad props to you!). And even if my recipe calls for thighs, you could use breasts or legs and vice versa. 🙂

    I picked this cookbook up as part of a wellness bundle after seeing a guest post on LOVE it! Such an awesome way to cook. It has also inspired me to prepare some of our old favorites this way too. I have found that the portions are very generous for our family of 3, so I started dividing them into 3 packages instead of 2. Works well. Great job!

    I’m a huge fan and love the recipes I’ve tried so far. I was just making a shopping list for some I haven’t tried yet and was looking at the Thai Chicken Curry (from the first book) and it calls for coconut milk – I am wondering if this is canned milk or the milk in the dairy case? Thanks a bunch!

    I love love love this cookbook! The recipes are healthy, delicious and so easy! Best of all, my 18 month old son gobbled up a huge bowl of the Thai chicken curry.
