Beef Noodle Casserole

This is one of those recipes like my mom used to make and when I’ve seen them recently it’s just doesn’t really get me very excited about cooking but I am thrilled to say that I did go back and give this a chance. 

Delicious and big hit with my granddaughter. Used cheddar but will try Italian blend cheese next time.

This is great! I love that its quick and easy, or I can add more ingredients to it to make a more involved dish. I can also triple it and freeze a few batches in foil pans to pull out and bake on busy nights.

Easy and very tasty! I’ve made this a few times over the past couple of months, I’ve tried it with both bone-in chicken and de-boned chicken, de-boned chicken works better (and less mess while eating). 

This super delicious recipe for turkey casserole with creamy sauce and lots of shredded turkey and broccoli is all topped off with gooey cheese and buttery bread crumbs.

Let me tell you that this easy dinner dish was really tasty! I had a different recipe in mind but fortunately that I couldn’t find it, so I used this one. A guess what? I absolutely loved it and I am going to keep it for next time as well. 

Prep Time: 10 minutes Cook Time: 25 minutes | Servings: 4

Ingredients :

1 tbsp vegetable oil

1 onion, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, finely chopped

1lb ground beef

1lb fusilli / penne pasta / any egg pasta noodles

1lb marinara sauce

1 cup mozzarella, shredded

1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded

How to make Beef Noodle Casserole :

Place a skillet on medium heat and add the vegetable oil.

Once the oil is hot add the onion, cook for 5 minutes to soften.

Then stir in the garlic, cook for 1 minute until fragrant.

Next add the ground beef, cook for 5 minutes to brown all over.

Pour the marinara sauce into the skillet and bring to a simmer, cook for 10 minutes.

While the beef sauce simmers, prepare the egg noodles. Bring a large saucepan of salted water to a boil over a high heat.

Into the saucepan of boiling water add the egg noodles. Cook the pasta for approximately 8 minutes, according to packet instructions.

Preheat an oven to 400F and prepare a casserole dish.

Strain the pasta through a colander once cooked and toss through the beef sauce.

Transfer the beef noodles to the casserole dish and top with shredded mozzarella and cheddar cheese.

Place the beef noodle casserole in the oven and bake for 25 minutes.

Remove the casserole from the oven and allow it to stand for 5 minutes, serve hot.
