Penelope’s 3rd birthday is a few short days away and both my husband and I were super pumped to partner up with Lego and be able to give her first Lego toys.
When I checked out the different LEGO DUPLO toy options, I about jumped out of my chair when I saw the Creative Cakes one. Penelope’s favorite thing to pretend play is making a birthday cake and then singing Happy Birthday.
LEGO set, kids can build cakes or cupcakes and have a birthday party. The pink lid doubles as a tray and the box makes for easy storage. I also picked out two Read and Play sets because they looked super cute and right up her alley. I gave her the Creative Cakes one early as it was her present from the Halloween Fairy in exchange for all her candy. We left out her stash of candy before bed and then in the morning, Surprise! New LEGOs!
She was super excited and had a blast playing with them in the morning before preschool, but after awhile she asked, “So, where’s my candy?” After I explained to her again that the Halloween Fairy came and took the candy and gave her a toy instead, she then threw herself on the floor and screamed, “I. Want. My. CANDY!!!!!!”
Thankfully, by the time she got home from school she had forgotten all about the candy and was happy with her new toys. I can’t wait to give her the Read and Play sets in a few days! They are interactive, you can read the story as your child builds along and really bring the story to life.
*Update!* It’s been over a year, since we gave Penelope these gifts and they are STILL her favorite. We have added some Ariel and Jake and Never Land Pirate lego sets and she loves those as well. Perfect gift for girls and boys ages 2-5!!
