Ingredients:
1/2 lb. bacon, cooked and chopped
1 lb. boneless, skinless chicken breasts, diced
1 packet dry Ranch dressing mix
8 oz. pasta (I used Shells)
1 cup Mozzarella cheese, shredded
1/2 cup Cheddar cheese, shredded
Salt/Pepper to taste
1 jar Alfredo sauce (14.5 oz)
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375 and grease a 9 x 9 baking dish.
Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Cook bacon until brown and crispy, about 7 minutes.
Drain fat and place bacon on a paper towel to absorb the grease.
In a gallon size Ziploc bag, add in the olive oil, diced chicken (raw at this point), and Ranch mix.
Shake around in bag until chicken is evenly coated.
Add chicken to skillet and cook until no longer pink. Set aside.
In a pot of boiling water, cook pasta until al dente.
Drain water and add pasta to greased baking dish.
Add cooked chicken and Alfredo sauce to the pasta.
Sprinkle both cheeses, bacon, and salt/pepper to the top of the Alfredo and place pan in oven.
Bake until bubbly and cheese is melted, about 15 minutes.
Remove from oven and serve!! Enjoy!!

Dandelion-Cranberry Tea helps drop a couple pounds of water weight very fast. It’s my go-to trick when I am feeling puffy or flabby,Β depending on what my diet has been like and where I am at in my cycle. You can see results within 24 hours!
This was inspired by a recipe I saw on Pinterest, but it was full of junk ingredients and extra sugar, so I wanted to see if I could experiment and figure out a recipe that lost the water weight, but didn’t have any extra sugar or junk in it.Β I have been using this recipe for about 2 years now and it works like a charm every time.
Dandelion leaf is a natural diuretic that increases urine production by promoting the excretion of salts and water from the kidneys. Dandelion is loaded with trace minerals, potassium, iron and calcium. Dandelion is reputed historically to be an excellent liver tonic and blood purifier, and one of the best diuretics, complete with its own potassium source. It is reported also to regulate the gastro-in
inal system, and is a good cure for anemia and acne. It also has the reputation for lowering serum cholesterol and blood pressure, eliminating gas and acid indigestion, aiding in weight loss, and counteracting certain cancerous tumors.
Cranberry juice is also a diuretic, increases metabolism and is high in vitamin C.
I make my tea on the stove top with a cast iron tea pot. I use 4 bags and let it steep a long time, like over an hour, to make sure the tea is super strong.
I don’t need my tea to be sweet, so a 1/2 cup of cranberry juice is more than enough for me. You could get away with a full cup if you want it sweeter. Several of the recipes I saw also called for honey or stevia, but that is just overkill in my book. If it is not sweet enough for you, try a tiny bit of honey till you get it to your liking.
Add the water to the tea/cranberry juice mixture.
Add the lemon juice. If you leave your lemons out at room temperature and roll them under the palm of your hand for a couple of seconds you will get more juice out of your lemon.
Mix it all up and it’s ready to go!
Remember, lemon juice is very detoxifying. So if you start to feel a little bit like you are getting sick, or feel achy, have a headache, or get fatigued all of the sudden, your body is in detox mode. Scale back on the tea until symptoms go away, or if you like that you are in detox mode, keep drinking the tea and take an epsom salt bath to help with the detox symptoms and relieve some of the yucky feeling. Walking or bouncing on a tramoline is great as well, to help flush out the toxins from your body faster.
Also, just for FYI, I drink an herbal coffee substitute made of dandelion in the mornings instead of coffee, called Dandy Blend, and that helps me keep the water weight off too, not to mention all the other health benefits of consuming dandelion as mentioned above.
Dandelion-Cranberry Tea
Ingredients
- 2 cups of dandelion tea, about 4 bags, cooled to room temperature.
- 1/2 cup of cranberry juice
- Juice of three lemons
- 4 cups of filtered water

January 14, 2013 at 1:48 AMHow often do you drink the tea, every day or just when you feel bloated?
Stephanie
January 14, 2013 at 4:04 PMUsually just when I feel bloated. You could drink it every day if you want though.

January 14, 2013 at 1:05 AMHi, This sounds wonderful. My question is when you drink this for a day for detox and water weight loss, are you fasting? Are you just drinking this tea?
Thanks!!!
Stephanie
January 14, 2013 at 4:05 PMNope, I am eating like normal. But my normal is pretty healthy.

January 14, 2013 at 7:01 PMThis tea looks great, and I had a major problem with water weight in my last pregnancy. I am still nursing my 18 month old 3-4 times a day, and I’m wondering if this is safe while nursing and pregnant. My initial reaction is that it would decrease milk supply since it is a diuretic… I would love to be able to drink something while pregnant next time to keep the water weight to a minimum…. guess I should ask my OB…
Stephanie
January 15, 2013 at 1:17 AMI think it would be ok, you probably would want to take it easy, not so much because it is a diuretic but because it is also detoxifying. And it’s ok to do simple detox while you are pregnant but you just want to go very slowly.

January 15, 2013 at 5:04 AMi was wondering if this would work with limes instead of lemons.

January 17, 2013 at 9:40 PMStephanie I think the drink looks lovely and refreshing but a concern would be for people being treated with anti coagulants such as warfarin, there is an interaction that can cause the INR levels to rise and stop blood clotting

January 18, 2013 at 2:52 AMHi Nanodee – thanks for the comment. This is a great opportunity to point out our policies page, that has a medical disclaimer so people know that we here at Mama and Baby Love are not dispensing medical advice and all readers should speak with their doctors before doing anything we suggest.

January 23, 2013 at 4:06 PMDo you drink the one batch over 2 days?
Thanks
Stephanie
January 23, 2013 at 6:05 PMYes. Its usually about 3 glasses a day, sometimes if I want the one batch to last longer. I pour a glass half full with the tea and then fill it the rest of the way up with water and that makes it last longer.

May 1, 2013 at 1:53 AMI never knew that Dandelion was in tea bags. Amazing. I suppose a Food Co-Op or Health Foods Store would carry this. I have at least 17 more pounds to lose…..I would like to lose more, but that is my short term goal.

June 19, 2013 at 6:10 AMI understand this is completely unrelated but I was curious if you knew somewhere I could possibly get a captcha plugin for my comment form?
I’m utilising the same blog platform as you and I’m
having trouble locating one?

June 19, 2013 at 6:54 PMOh my gosh, I have no idea what you are talking about! I am so bad with technical stuff I have a small team of people who help me with admin and technical support. I just do marketing and write!

May 4, 2015 at 8:47 AMIs it possible to make dandelion tea with fresh dandelions? I’m super frugal and would love to harvest my own instead of buying.

May 4, 2015 at 2:55 PMI went out and bought the ingredients and made this today. It tastes pretty good! I’m so excited to find a natural and healthy way to get rid of that bloated feeling, especially after a day of salty food or traveling. Thank you so much for your recipe and articles. May 5, 2015 at 11:09 AMMy homeopath recommended dandelion root extract to help with some issues I’m having. Perhaps I’ll incorporate this tea as well. I’m trying to wean myself off sweet tea, but it’s so hard!! Especially when you are Southern π
Stephanie
May 5, 2015 at 11:21 AMSounds like a good plan. And I hear ya, I am Southern too, I started drinking sweet tea at like 5 or 6 years old-thanks to my Grandma (sweetened with Equal no less!!! Ugh!!) and that was a hard habit to break. You could also sweeten my recipe with a little bit of raw honey if you want, to help you with the transition.

April 29, 2016 at 10:33 PMMay I ask if you used organic unsweetened pure cranberry juice or the normal grocery store cranberry juice?
This looks yummy. I have tried everything to lose weight and it keeps increasing, i am wondering if it is from water so would love to try this. Thanks!
Stephanie
May 2, 2016 at 1:24 PMPure cranberry juice. π

August 24, 2016 at 12:05 PMit looks like it is about 5 cups in total when you add all of the ingredients. if you drink all “5 cups” in one day I assume that is possible but would you get the same results or is it too potent to drink them straight. Would it be better to water them down? is this something you can drink all day and replace for soda or any other drink you have with meals?
